I have been a deliberate half-century-fused inciter of a cool-headed, natural, gestation-rate-paced revolution, armed with physically demonstrable livingry levers with which altogether to elevate all humanity to realization of an inherently sustainable, satisfactory-to-all, ever higher standard of living.

Critical threshold-crossing of the inevitable revolution is already underway. The question is: Can it be successfully accomplished before the only-instinctively-operating fear and ignorance preclude success, by one individual, authorized or unauthorized, pushing the first button of chain-reacting all-buttons-pushing, atomic, race irradiated suicide?

The only happily promising recourse of each human individual is to our highest intellectual faculties and their mutual, ego-deflated, unselfishly loving preoccupation with comprehensivity and our employment of the most powerful tools of all:

1. the family of generalized scientific principles governing the operational design of eternally regenerative Universe itself;

2. comprehending and effectively employing synergetics, with the books Synergetics and Synergetics II presenting the comprehensive omni-image-able mathematical coordinate system employed by nature, thus avoiding the mentally debilitating, vast majority-of-humanity-excluding quasimathematical coordinate system employed by present-day science;

3. comprehending the major objectives and operating strategies of the major opposing power structures of world politics, their present status quo and probable future trending;

4. comprehending the fundamentals of economics, of wealth vs. money, of the principal features and functioning of industry, banking, and securities;

5. comprehending the educational system in general as well as the discovery of the shortcomings of science, engineering, and education in general;

6. synergetically comprehending “what it is all about,” as propounded in Critical Path and this book, Grunch of Giants, and discovering what our options are to confront imminent race disaster; and

7. the individual discovery of God by a vast majority of human individuals – not the discovery of religions, but the discovery that each and every individual has an always-instantly-open, no-intermediary-switchboard-authority-to-contend-with, no-interference of-any-kind, direct “hot-line to God”: i.e., the weightless, nonphysical communication occurring teleologically between the differentially limited, weightless, nonphysical, temporal, special-case mind of the individual human and the comprehensively integrated, macro-micro unlimited, weightless, eternal, generalized mind of God.

Most people see that not everything works well in the world and I am often asked: “what can I do about it?”

Comprehensive thinker Bucky Fuller’s drive was to “make the world work for 100% of humanity”; Taking inspiration from an article (The Anticipatory Leader: Buckminster Fuller’s Principles for Making the World Work for 100% of humanity) published in 2006 in The Futurist & written by Medard Gabel & Jim Walker, I have compiled and summarized an easy to read list of Bucky’s leadership principles. This list gathers in one place some of the most important aspects of Bucky Fuller’s thinking and reflections about what a single, seemingly powerless individual can do, and how he or she can get started, to change the course of events humans have unwillingly set unto themselves.

Think comprehensively, act locally:

• Identify the most important thing to do at this extraordinary moment, and do it.
• Zoom out: “spy” the most remote fundamental cause that needs to be changed or revolutionalized. (You can “dig deeper” with the following posts studied previously by The Bucky Call: Start with the Universe, and also this one: Scenario Universe.)
• Change the environment, not the people; that is respect & trust the individual and his decisions.

Anticipate the future:

• Tune in on trends – Technological, world resources, human needs – Tune out the noise.
• Respect LAG & gestation times, understand the second derivative of speed: accelerating acceleration.
• Focus on a vision of what the world should be like; everyone’s basic needs, eternally regenerative, safe from war and social injustice.

Be a “trim tab”, an individual that can initiate big change.

Design and build artifacts that will change the environment and alter Man's behavior and habits

• Be a trim tab, leverage, do more with less. Have faith in the individual’s ability to build artifacts, tools and creative responses that “will move the rudder”.
• Know where the ship is, where it is heading, currents, winds, tides; where the ship ought to be going; when and where to apply pressure.

Take individual initiative:

• See what needs to be done that nobody else is attending to.
• Anti “Big Man”, anti central planning or authority; we all should be leaders, at least of our own lives.

Ask the obvious and naive questions:

• Ask simple and naive questions to initiate change. Why do we do things this way? —we always did it that way!
• With our expanding technical resources, why can’t we commit to feed, clothe and shelter all passengers aboard spaceship earth?
• Why don’t we simply look at how nature builds things, and then build our own structures accordingly?

Do more with less:

• What is wealth? money is not wealth; capital is seeking true productive wealth; wealth that knows how to do more and more with less and less.
• Create more output with less input, gain influence.
• True wealth = resources + know how applied to needs.
• We can only learn more, never less – as knowledge & understanding grows, so does wealth.
• The zero sum game of commodities is scarcity; human creation & ingenuity to do more with less creates abundance. • Live off our daily sun generated energy income, not by spending off our balance sheet energy savings (fossil fuels). Understand “cosmic cost accounting”. Measure actual human gains, not financial statements.
• Money is a tool for making artifacts that will make the world work for 100% of humanity.

Seek to reform the environment, not man:

• Change the environment, leverage in infrastructure, not in habit ridden man.
• Reforming the environment will have a large impact on human behavior.

U.S. has plundered world wealth with dollar: China paper

BEIJING (Reuters) – The United States has plundered global wealth by exploiting the dollar’s dominance, and the world urgently needs other currencies to take its place, a leading Chinese state newspaper said on Friday.

The front-page commentary in the overseas edition of the People’s Daily said that Asian and European countries should banish the U.S. dollar from their direct trade relations for a start, relying only on their own currencies.

A meeting between Asian and European leaders, starting on Friday in Beijing, presented the perfect opportunity to begin building a new international financial order, the newspaper said.

The People’s Daily is the official newspaper of China’s ruling Communist Party. The Chinese-language overseas edition is a small circulation offshoot of the main paper.

Its pronouncements do not necessarily directly voice leadership views. But the commentary, as well as recent comments, amount to a growing chorus of Chinese disdain for Washington’s economic policies and global financial dominance in the wake of the credit crisis.

“The grim reality has led people, amidst the panic, to realize that the United States has used the U.S. dollar’s hegemony to plunder the world’s wealth,” said the commentator, Shi Jianxun, a professor at Shanghai’s Tongji University.

Shi, who has before been strident in his criticism of the U.S., said other countries had lost vast amounts of wealth because of the financial crisis, while Washington’s sole concern had been protecting its own interests.

“The U.S. dollar is losing people’s confidence. The world, acting democratically and lawfully through a global financial organization, urgently needs to change the international monetary system based on U.S. global economic leadership and U.S. dollar dominance,” he wrote.

Shi suggested that all trade between Europe and Asia should be settled in euros, pounds, yen and yuan, though he did not explain how the Chinese currency could play such a role since it is not convertible on the capital account.

A two-day Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) of 27 EU member states and 16 Asian countries was set to open on Friday. Though few analysts expect much in the way of concrete agreements, Shi said it could prove momentous.

“How can Europe and Asia grasp each other’s hands and together confront the once-in-a-century global financial crisis sparked by the U.S.; how can they construct a new equitable and safe international financial order?” he said.

“The world is waiting for this Asian-European meeting to achieve big results in financial cooperation.”

PRICES ARE MADE AT THE MARGIN!, in the small fringe of inventory that changes hands any given day.

That is the price of a stock (and of about anything, from houses to oil, gold, etc…) is made by the transactions that are happening – the bulk of the inventory not being transacted.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but the guy that saw his portfolio go down from 100,000 to 60,000 suffered a paper loss of 40,000, due to the fact that others transacted at lower and lower prices. This means that contrary to what we said, the wipeout is real in aggregate, on BOTH SIDES of the ledger, not only on the seller’s side.

The question is now how to account for this “paper” loss… is it a real loss or not – in my view it is and that is why I think the wipeout is real.

Of course, one can always hope that prices will go back up; however, if we push the reasoning to a limit and say for instance that everyone wants to get out, then demand disappears, the margin becomes the bulk and as in sudden death, the value goes to zero!

This is what happened for instance in “ghost towns” when gold rush prospectors did not find gold and lost hope, everyone left, abandoning the property.

…Could this happen to US stocks when boomers start retiring and need to cash in, who will they sell to?
