Opening The Bucky Call To All

For the last two years, a closed group of 15 persons from 8 countries have studied Bucky Fuller’s Critical Path and held a weekly conference call. The study materials and recent recordings of The Bucky Call are available (the recordings will soon be) on TheTrimTab.com.

The consistency and persistence of The Bucky Call, and with the creation and going live of TheTrimTab in early April, each one of the original minds on the call has received inquiries by an increasing number of persons asking how to join The Bucky Call.

Buckminster Fuller’s intent in writing Critical Path in 1980 was to give humanity a starting point and a road map to consciously evolve towards a world that works for all; Bucky’s vision has been dubbed Utopian… the problem with utopia is by definition, it cannot be achieved, therefore why bother? The problem with “not bothering” is that the alternative is for humanity to face extinction. Bucky’s road map, guides us towards a world that works for all, within a generational life span (Bucky says 10 years).

Time has come for The Bucky Call to open up to a wide audience of perhaps 100s. Here is the letter I sent yesterday to the core group; I am asking the same question to all readers:

I am opening the question of what The Bucky Call must become to be able to accommodate a large audience of maybe several hundred participants – I have received multiple inquiries and I know that all of you have had people contacting them expressing their desire to participate; we all have kicked the can down the road  – I don’t think we should resist this trend, I strongly believe we ought to encourage it.

If humanity is to engage on Bucky’s Critical Path, we will first need Critical Mass – There is no time – we need critical mass right now! We are 20 years behind what Bucky envisioned as the end of a transition phase and the start of a class one conscious evolution for humanity; in a world that is bursting at the seams:

There is no time to engage on the road.

There is no time to train leaders – they will emerge or it will not happen.

Maybe there is no time before the doors close, but we cannot be concerned about that now.

This may be the last chance to all make it or face extinction.

In the nick of time? We will soon get a very real and very intimate understanding of that one… too intimate for comfort I think! That would be so easy to get fat in front of TV, video games or too caught up “making a living” to stop and think, while things unravel, fall apart… doing nothing.

At the moment, The Bucky Call is held via land line conference call. I envision an immediate future where computer connections and desktop sharing in real time will allow for a large audience to interact with not only audio, but file sharing and video. For that, we will need to have access to a professional strength platform that will give shape to this nascent global boundaryless community.
