A company’s sales went from 40 to 4 millions in a short time span; of course, the CEO that managed the disaster in the making is no longer there. A Sales Partner was brought in to help out, but, for some reasons, the company management did not act on his recommendations… The products are “big ticket items”, have a long sales cycle and are sold to a narrow market; the company gambled its future on the outcome of ONE contract with ONE client, and they lost: the client did not select them as suppliers. This leads to today: A big loss of sales, all expectations with this customer have disappeared and the pipeline is empty; there are 20 employees in the call center, but the phone does not ring; the costs are running!


Hummm, turning around a 40 millions dollars business is feasible in any economy; but time has come to face the situation: Sales Partners are not magicians, we can step in and work hard with the team to make things happen, but it is not a 3 hours a week mission for 3,000 a month contract. It is more like a 3 days for 10,000 a week for the foreseeable future; the Balance Sheet is at stake, not just the Loss and Profits. Possible outcomes have dire consequences that weight on every decision. At the moment, the company spirit is dead and its management is trying to be cheap and haggles over fees.


Simply put, an external eye is needed: a person able to revive the spirit, elevate the mood and help clinically make the tough choices. Without it, the game is over. The Sales Partners involved and its client are in the precisely same situation: it is either going to work out, or it is not – there is no dancing around that one:


it is time to get serious or time to move on, and the decision is right now. What would you do?
