FlipCards ™

You will have noticed some images that are not quite drawings, not quite text and not quite anything familiar nor classified yet… I call these posts FlipCards(tm). They are the disrespected bastardized offspring of the improbable convergence of tag cloud tools and other emerging web2.0 cool data visualizations, the raise in my awareness & rediscovery of my right brain, the FlipCharts that are part of the branding of Sales Partners, the discovery of a couple of geniuses that are blogging their thoughts with similar artifacts & a few more, in or out of reach of my consciousness, never to be defined waves that are vibrating across the present universe and stealthily hit me.

The emergence of a focal point in time; December 2008:

  • I received a note from my esteemed and respected friend Jayne Johnson – she introduced wordle to me and I started experimenting with it.
  • I found online the 4blockworld & it triggered recent memory of a small booklet I had seen at Borders in Scottsdale Az. Tinkering around 4blockword, allowed me to find thisisindexed online. These two guys are the geniuses mentioned earlier, I receive a daily card from each through my RSS feed… and so should you.
  • The Bucky Call was getting back at “creating an artifact” that would… ? in fact, we had no idea of the what or what for; we just thought that an artifact was the way to go and we were talking about it…
  • My friend and partner Kelly invited me to join the Sales Partners “sense of urgency” four times a week calls he was just launching; I started to take notes, (I always do, I need to see to remember), but the pace and speed of the conversations only allowed to scribble words. Editing a full report for each call was beyond my ambition and who reads reports anyways? So I had those words, and those cards, and wordle… and I started to play.
  • …I suppose it was just time, and the FlipCards(tm) were born!

I am using wordle quite a lot, but not only for my own production.
